Imaginif and All for Women formalise sistership

January 22nd 2008 by Megan Bayliss in Imaginif business

Partnerships, feminism, collectives; somewhere in there is marriage and carriages too. Combining the best of the lot, Imaginif Pty Ltd and All for Women have broken history and formed a sistership of women’s business.

All for Women's logoImaginif and All for Women are proud to announce we have done it woman style - formed a sistership rather than a partnership. All for Women is a site we LOVE. They are a community for all kinds of every day women to get together and chat, make friends, and get support and advice on all stages of life. From students to grandmothers and everything in between, All for Women has something to offer everyone.

Unlike a traditional and masculine business partnership where copious amounts of money exchange between parties, Imaginif and All for Women chose to exchange goodwill only - no monetary value was ascribed to the goodwill either. Good business karma between women operating grass roots business models, costs nothing more than working together for the common good. Our common good is helping women and male and female survivors of child abuse (we’ll be revealing this tomorrow so make sure you sneak back now - ohhhh, I am hopeless at delaying gratification so here’s a clue: do a google search for “teddytour, imaginif, allforwomen”).

Our sistership essentially means we promote each other’s sites (that includes the advertisers we have on our sites for any of you that may be interested in taking advertising packages) and double the exposure either of us would previously have got. A brilliant idea and, yes Mam, it came from we web women. Leigh (principal of All for Women and only 28 years old - how do young women get so clever nowadays!) and I both identified that we are not overly proficient at self-marketing. Despite this, we are both great at marketing other services. The idea grew from there.

Toward the end of 2008, we will be hostessing an Imaginif / All for Women conference. We aim to hold it at a bra factory (see The Sisterhood of the Travelling Bra to understand why) and coincide with Imaginif’s inaugural sexual assault prevention fund raiser, Purse for a Curse (watch this space for further updates).

We invite you to support the sistership of All for Women and Imaginif too. Start with signing up for our joint news. Women on our existing mail lists will receive an aweber automated email asking if you’d like to join our sistership newsletter. If you want to hang with us, then click on the verification link and you’ll start getting some really cool offers from All for Women and Imaginif.

If you are interested in being our little sisters and captalising on our plans for expansion, increased marketing and advertising of the way women do things, then send me an email to express your interest. Leigh and I will reveal more about our expansion plans after our accountant has recovered from the process of our 50,000 questions about women helping women via women’s ways of operating. Isn’t it funny; women have been around just as long as men but it is almost a new concept to suggest (to a male) that women’s ways is what will work for us.

Hello and welcome to my new sister Leigh and all of her friends over at the fantastic community All for Women.

Stumble it!

Thanks Jen - we’re both excited too. Leigh’s got her computer in at the fix it shop though so she can’t yet make her announcements….but she is just as excited as I am.
