WIN $50.00 cash. Write a blog post about Child Safety

March 11th 2008 by Megan Bayliss in Imaginif business, Child Safety & Protection

The BITSS model of Protective BehavioursWIN $50.00 cash for writing about child safety. No word length, no set genre: just a blog post to do with child safety, mentioning the search term child safety and linking back to this competition post.

Child Safety is a huge area and everyone has something to say about it. But, can you make your child safety supportive voice heard and get your readers to respond?

To win $50.00 (Australian and paid via paypal) your blog post on child safety will:

  • focus specifically on a child safety issue (could be water, sun, personal, farm, road, poison, etc, safety)
  • use the key search term ”child safety” in your title and post
  • link back to this competition post
  • have the most reader responses by way of related comments.

Leave a comment here (and a trackback in your post editor) once your child safety post is written to alert me to your entry. I will visit your child safety blog post entry and keep an eye on the comments. The winner will be the blogger who has attracted the most, and child safety relevant, comments (exceptions: any comments made by Megan from Imaginif do not count in the tally - multiple author comments/responses to comments count as 1 comment only - spam is not counted so please delete it). In the event that some entry posts have equal number of comments, Imaginif team members will make a joint decision about the winner, based on the topical nature of the child safety issue and the convincing voice of the blogger. The more your post makes us want to practice child safety, the more likely you are to win. The panel decision is final and no discussions will be entered into.

Blog Against Sexual Violence logoApril 3 is Blog Against Sexual Violence Day. To further celebrate this day, the winner of Imaginif’s Child Safety post competition will be announced on this day. The winner and their winning child safety post will be announced here on April 3 (USA time - April 4 in the Southern Hemisphere). A congratulatory comment will also be left on the winning post.

Hi Megan, I review an article/book each Friday on my blog and the articles I reviewed for today’s post fitted also with the theme of your competition on Child Safety. I think it is such a great idea to increase the awareness of child safety. For me as a parent I know that how I manage, interact and educate my children will greatly impact their ability to keep themselves safe when they are not around me. I look forward to reading the other entries as they come in.

Thanks Planning. An excellent post you have written and already you have 3 comments. You are the only entry so far so you have the lead, well and truly.
For those who want to see what Planning wrote; Child Safety - Remembering that I am the adult.

    Hi Megan,

I apologize for the delay in responding to your comment about my upcoming series. My father in-law died this afternoon and we have been dealing with that. I will likely be off-line for a few days due to the funeral services etc. Yes, I am entering the contest, and my series was actually planned before ever seeing this contest, but I felt it was worthwhile to link to this due to the blog about sexual violence info. Thank you.

I’ve written up a campaign from Dunkelziffer in Germany, reminding us that sexual abuse of children that is not dealt with will haunt women throughout their lives. I’m not too confident in getting lots of comments though.
